About the author

Yizukanji Sikombe is a development practitioner and social impact leader committed to advancing child protection, women’s empowerment, and community development in Tanzania. He has extensive experience coordinating volunteer programs, community-based initiatives, and partnerships focused on vulnerable groups, including children, women, and persons with disabilities. He is the founder and leader of the Africa Child Foundation Mission of Tanzania (ACFMT), a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged communities through child safeguarding programs, education support, women and girls empowerment, and sustainable livelihood initiatives. ACFMT has demonstrated strong capacity in volunteer coordination, having supervised more than 650 online volunteers through the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) platform, building significant experience in remote supervision, reporting, and project implementation. The organization is also ECOSOC-accredited, reflecting its recognition within the international development community. Through its programs, ACFMT focuses on child protection, safeguarding systems, women’s economic empowerment, and community resilience. The organization is now expanding its impact by strengthening onsite volunteer engagement, particularly in agriculture, seed banking, and community development initiatives. Under the leadership of Yizukanji Sikombe, ACFMT continues to build partnerships with local and international stakeholders to ensure sustainable development, accountability, and long-term community transformation in Tanzania
